Hey all!!
Sorry that it has been soooo long since I have written a proper blog, but the internet has been few and far between and extremely expensive so you will pretty much get all of my blogs when I make it back home and when I can match the photos up with it all...
But even though I am now in the last 8 days of my tour I thought I would start back at the beginning since I keep getting emails asking me what has happened to the blogs!!
On the first day of the tour we had our bags weighed and by some stroke of a miracle mine ended up coming under the 20kg limit and it is a good thing that they don't weigh carry on luggage as I am sure that mine weighed about 13kg alone!!!
Itīs weird being back on a tour and starting again from scratch making new friends and stuff.
The first tour drama was we were late getting to our ferry that left from the White Cliffs of Dover so we had to catch the next one to make our way over to France.
Once on the ferry it was just after 11am so I decided to go for a drink and met a girl called Artemis who was also looking for a drink so we got lunch together and a bottle of wine to share and we became drinking buddies and decided that through our mutual love and appreciation of alcohol we should become room mates too!!! The more I get to know her I realise that she is the Greek version of me!! Itīs freaky!!
France looked beautiful as we came into the port, although he port itself isn't that great!! We drove to our dodgy hotel but it was in a good location.
It feels weird being back in Paris after being there 3 years ago...
Took a guided city tour in our bus and saw the Eiffel Tower again, I always think this is a beautiful and ugly building at the same time at 320m high. They say that 400 people have died jumping off the Tower although most don't hit the ground as it is like going through a cheese grater. 10 years after they built it they were going to pull it down until they decided that they could put an antenna ontop of it.
The Arc De Trumph still stands in the middle of the craziest round a bout Iīve ever seen!!! Itīs 50m tall and was built by Napoleon to thank the soldiers for winning the war against Prussia. They won the war by luring all the Prussian soldiers onto a frozenlake then it collapsed killing them all. There are 12 lanes of traffic on the RAB.
The most famous street in the world is Avenue Des Champ Elysees which is 3.3km long. All the neon lights along this street are white, including the Maccers sign out of respect for the inventor.
My new favourite line is īPalais Vous Angalis?ī meaning Do you speak English...
Had dinner included tonight waited for 45 min for the restaurant guy to meet us but he didn't turn up, turns out the restaurant had moved and didnīt tell anyone!!
The following day we left for our free day in Paris. Art (Artemis) and I went together as we had both been to Paris before...
We took the token pics of the Eiffel Tower and then walked up to the Arc de Trumph where we decided we didn't feel like climbing all the 284 stairs to the top so we looked at the unknown soldiers grave with the eternal flame...
Have run out of internet time so will continue this later!!!
