We are on the road again! After finishing up my contract in Scotland last week, I headed to London to pick up May who arrived bright and early Wednesday morning. It was so wonderful to see her-I can't describe how nice it is to have someone from home here and sharing all our excitement as we discover all of the delights we left the wonderful land of Aus to find! We spent a crazy few days in London, getting to know the capital of the mother country, before jumping on the Eurostar and heading to Paris! While the more I see of london, the more things I am finding to love, Paris is a city which immediately tugs at the heartstrings. All the rumours are true-it is beautiful and romantic and completely picturesque. Adam met up with us here and the three of us have spent the long weekend exploring all the sites. We stayed in the cutest hostel ever in Montmatre which is the former bohemian quarter of Paris. We woke up each morning to the smell of croissants and French bread and walked around our little neighbourhood peering in all the Patisserie windows at the amazing array of cakes and pastries on offer. A short stroll away was the artists square where famous parisian masters once gathered but is now occupied by artists largely catering solely to toursits (rather than creating any artisitc masterpieces themselves). We visited all the major sites in Paris-Ste-Chappelle, Notre-Dame, The Lourve, Sacre-Coeur and of course the Eiffel Tower (which we climbed up the stairs of in the pouring rain!) We also indulged in all things French-I must say the French cheeses and wines are truly amazing, not to mention the delicious chocolate crepes! Adam returned to London after a lovely lazy long weekend in Paris but May and I now head off
on our whirlwind trip together through Europe together...
