So after an impromptu two hour journey from Bordeaux, we finally arrived at the highest sand dune in Europe. As the last bus was due to go back to Arcachon about an hour after, we did a mad dash around it and took in the beautiful view it offers. I also managed to dip my feet in the water, which was enough to disuade me from dipping anything else in. Unfortunately, due to public holiday and Sunday bus services not existing that was all for the Dune du Pilat for me...
