2005 I went to Finland for the first time, a few days only, in Tampere. These 2 days were the coldest ever, it was -25° by night, everything was covered in ice and snow, and people were falling down like domino stones, especially at night after a few beer (I must have been the only one not to fall down and break something). In 2007, end of december I went up to Finland to celebrate New Year and stay there for 1 more week. This time the weather was +5° and the only time i saw real snow was in Helsinki. So all these days I lived at friends places, ate fastfood mostly and had big celebretions nearly every evening..which happened to be really tiring after 1 week, but fun to remember afterwards. Always waking up at 15: 00, going to sleep in the morning.
Tampere is a fun city with many pubs, and it's really easy to find just any place. Turku is a bit more chaotic, but maybe that was more likely because of our group. Helsinki sometimes reminded me of Moscow - but in a more European way and less dirty.
Compared to Germany the alcohol is quite expensive
in Finland , but most pubs have a happy hour where the drinks cost the half of the usual price- which makes it normal-priced by German standarts.
In Finland, they have my favorite drink - Scandinavian Cider! You will see more of it in this entry..
Big thanks to Daniel, Jussi, RB, ...
