So here it is...my last blog entry from Helsinki...wow this feels weird!!
Almost five months have passed since I set out on this adventure...and now it is almost over. Thursday I fly to Paris to drop off my luggage and then it is off to London to stay with my friend, Pauline, for a couple days. My friend, Lindsey, is coming over from the U.S. on the 15th and then we will start our backpacking adventure until June 14th when we fly home. Some of our stops on our route include; Brussels, Luxembourg, Hannover (to stay with Sina and Thomas), Salzburg, Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon (to stay with Maria), and then ending it with Paris!! I still have to pinch myself when I think of traveling to all these places because it seems so unreal.
This last week I've been keeping myself busy. Jane, David, Anne and I went to the Helsinki Zoo on Thursday. The zoo is located on an island so we took a ferry from the pier. It was a fun ride and we got some good views of the city. Friday Jane and I went to an old swimming hall in the city center. They
have separate days for males and females because you swim naked in the pool.... :-0 ...I have to say I am becoming more and more european everyday...haha. The hall also included two saunas....aww...I am really going to miss the finnish sauna!
Saturday Jane, David and I went hiking in the nature park located in Espoo a suburb of Helsinki. It is the same park I took my sisters and Pauline to when they were visiting...but this time it seemed like a different park because it was unthawed.
Yesterday Jane and I went walking around the city a bit so I could get some movies of Helsinki to show back home...then we laid in one of the parks next to the sea and enjoyed the sun. I really feel like the city has become so alive in the last couple weeks.
Well be prepared for a full month of adventures from me....I will be taking you all over Europe!!
more to come...
Amanda

Oohoh, Amanda is becoming more and more european! Did you know, that in Hanover people are walking naked through the streets, because we do not have clothes?! :-) And we eat our computers as a hot dog...
I envy you Amanda....have a safe trip through Europe and do all have all the adventures you can....before you come back to Minnesota....I wonder if those bunnies know Pat's bunny from Alton?
It's a need to know basis. The only time a parent should see their children naked is when they are babies!!!! When your in Rome, give the pope my regards. Ring a peal over his head!!!
