Started with the need for a tree fix.
I heard from Linzy, a friend at school, that there was this quaint little town in the north west of Zealand called Tisvildeleje. How on earth you would say this I will never know. A little investigation found that we could get a 24hour regional ticket for 120DKK which was much cheaper than the return fair.
So Adrien (Mexico), Denisa (Albania), Kristen (America) and I hopped on the train with our bikes, some food, some wine a blanket each and I brought my tent. We had no plan except to find beach, find forest and not pay for accommodation.
We stopped in Hillerod because the others hadn't seen the frederiksborg castle yet. Then it was back on to Tis..... I think I found the longest hill in Denmark so far, still the gradient was not more than 10%. The beach - wow! Gorgeous and wild and windy. The beach here in Copenhagen is artificial, so not really that mesmerizing. Up in Tis though was another story. There were a few lonely water sports enthusiasts out, a kite surfer, wind surfer and surf kayaker. It must have been bloody freezing.

We inquired with a Danish kiosk worker (whose English was less than desirable) about any places we could have a fire and camp over night. She told us about a campsite at the other end of the forest that was free, Perfect! At least thats what we understood.
So we biked the 3ish kms to this site and it was perfect. A built up shelter, fire pits, bbqs a water hole, it was gorgeous, and the best part was that it was quiet. Not that Copenhagen is a booming loud city, but it was just nice to get outside, with no sounds but the crackling fire and wind through the trees.
We were up early Sunday morning to get on the train and get back to Copenhagen before our carriage turned into a pumpkin at 10am.
Who would have thought you could pack so much in to only 24 hours!
