Every year on May 15th, Gubbio celebrates the Corsa dei Ceri. Three teams, devoted to one of three saints, run through the town streets, with each team carrying a statue of their saint mounted on a wooden prism, 4 meters tall and weighing about 350 kilograms.
Green Tuborg, Copenhagen, Denmark
In 2002, I met a group of international students at DTU, a university located just north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Beautiful, life-long friendships developed and 25 of us decided to reunite back in Copenhagen, with green tuborgs in hand, for our 10-year reunion.
It was cloudy in Zurich. We took 4 trains in 2 hrs with less than 5 mins to connect to each train. We arrived exactly on time. I love the efficiency of Swiss trains. We stepped off the train in Interlaken, and magically the sky had cleared, so that I had a perfect view while I soared like a bird in the sky. After that, we hiked 46 km through the Alps, eating a whole lot of cheese, and listening to cow bells, men yodeling, and garage alphorn players. My eyes are sore from looking at all the beautiful landscapes.
We are now a family. Gone are the days of backpacking and couchsurfing. Travelling now requires detailed planning and pre-booked accomodation! But it's never too early to fill up baby's passport with stamps :)... full info
