the holy grail
the holy grail As usual, I went over to the train station a day before my departure date just to make sure I could get the train I wanted down to Berlin. It's also a good idea to do this since it can take about 30 minutes waiting in line to get the ticket so now I don't need to rush tomorrow. I should mention that my means of travel todays is Anders' second bike. It is rusty, rickety and has a seat much too high for me. If it was a car it would not pass inspection. But it's what I have and I am starting to come around on it. Even though I have to get off my bike at each traffic stop and hop back on as I cannot reach the ground with my feet. Oh well.
Just like Amsterdam I really like biking around here. It's nice when you have a little more power on the street and cars treat you just like another car instead of honking their horn and asking you to get the hell out of the way. Stopped by the Nyhavn again where I had lunch right on the water just like yesterday. Found a

launching at artillery attack in a city park take out Thai place nearby that was quite good and cheap for around here. From there I made my way up to the Kastelfort (sp?) As the name would indicate it is an old fort with a moat around it and also enclosed by these manmade banks of land. There is a path that encircles the fort area from above and you can walk around there and view the fort from above as well as a good bit of the city nearby. A lot of people up there having picnics but you can say that about every park here in the summer I would say. Some girl was telling me that they really only get one or two good months a year to be outside like this because of the rain and cold so they take full advantage of the good days.
Met up with our 2 new couch surfers for the night (Ferdinand and Stephan) who were both from Germany. Pretty cool guys. The Germans always crack me up. Im not sure what it is about them but they are something. I think it's that they use hyperbole to describe even the simplest thing. Like, "Yeh, the hostel

hans christian andersens we stayed in was amazing, just totally amazing. I could not believe" I think its the same as me in Spanish when I can't come up with any other adjectives. Anyways, good guys. We all went back to the beach with Anders as his friend was having a birthday celebration out there so once again we BBQed on the beach and hung out with all of his friends which was cool. Also, played some sort of Danish game where you throw wooden pegs at other wooden blocks and try to knock them over. I couldn't get the name since apparently they call it a bunch of different things but it was surprisingly enjoyable. Pretty intense at the end too. Made our way back to the part of the beach with the music scene and chilled there before biking back home. Once again I love the biking here. If you showed up to a party of some sort on a bike in the U.S. people would just laugh at you but not here ha. Vi ses.
