Frederiksborg Slot - Hilerod
Time of for the last new country on our trip.....3 nights in Copenhagen. This time we couchsurfed at Jorn and Line's house. They have a couple kids each, but unfortunately they were staying with their other parents at the time of our visit. The good news was that I could play with their stuff and watch their movies. They even had a swan lake movie, like the story of the ballet I saw in Russia. Jorn and Line were very nice and daddy was happy that they liked wine a lot.

Our first full day we took a boat ride in Copenhagen. The best part was seeing the little mermaid. Daddy told me that the person who wrote the story for the little mermaid was from Denmark, and I took a picture by a statue of him. We went to a very interesting part of town called Christiania, which was hippie-like town. It had a lot of really cool painted houses, jewelry and interesting people, but for some reason, Daddy was not allowed to take any pictures inside of it. My favorite part of Copenhagen was going to Tivoli, which was like a mini disneyland. It had a lot of

rides I liked, but the roller coaster was a little scary. We then went back to Jorn and Line's as I was exhausted.

The next day we took a day trip to see some castles. We first went to Hellirod and visited the castle called Frederiksborg Slot. It was really cool. My favorite thing was getting dressed up as a princess, but the entire castle was very nice. We then drove to the coast and stopped at a town called Gilleleje to get some seafood. Unfortunately after we ordered our food, it started to rain (we had been lucky the whole trip) THere were only a cople tables outside that were covered which were all taken, but daddy took 2 chairs and used his legs as a table and we ate right there. It was a lot of fun and great calamaria, shrimp, and fish. Our last stop on the day trip was Helsingor to visit Kronborg Slot which is better known as Elsinore Castle of Shakespeare's Hamlet (whatever that means). I had a lot of fun at this one. I ran around chasing swans and daddy. We walked under the castle in a dungeon looking place which was

creepy. Then, we went into town to have some ice cream.

We then went back to Line and Jorns place and they cooked us a great barbecue. Daddy stayed up with them drinking good wine and we all had a good time. I hope they visit us in Miami with their children.

great roaring!!
I loved these photos. Went to Copenhagen after doing a sailing competition, as a 20 year old, I think what we saw crossed over but it's amazing how different a view of a place you can have depending when and with whom you visit different places. Revisiting places can be very interesting and eye opening!
