Hej!
Well, a lot can happen in just 3 days!! My 3rd host Mor, Susanne took me on "host tour" to see my 2nd host family's house and my 3rd host family's house. My second host family's house was wonderful! I had my own room in the basement and my own bathroom down there too. Nils, my 2nd host brother, was SO excited to teach me English that he ran around the entire house pointing at things and having me say them in Danish. I can't remember a single one btu i am working on that...
My mor took me to see my 3rd home. It was awesome!! I had my own room on the 2nd floor and there is a garden. My host mor owns a little red sporty car that she wants to take me in when the weather is not so rainy and it is more sunny. We then went to see the Little Mermaid which was VERY little but i was not disappointed by it! :o) It was nice to see. We walked and saw a church i am interested in attending and then had ICE CREAM. I have seriously had ice cream everyday since
i got here!! But their ice cream is goooooooood!! I'm in love with it already!
She dropped me off at home and i walked up the stairs to the 3rd floor and openned the door to find another little boy with Kristian. His name was Didalo (can't spell it though). As i walked in, they kinda declared temorary war on me. Iwent into my room and they followed after me. They ran into my room, grabbed my stuff and ran out jsut as fast. I was SO suprised that i just stood there for a second. They taunted me in Danish to come and get them...So i booked it after them!! We ran around taking each others stuff and calling each other "little, ugly monkeys". But i kept saying "little, green monkeys" because the word "ugly" and "green" are so close! Ever since then, Kristian calls me the "big, ugly monkey" and i call him the "little ugly monkey". As mean as it sounds, it's so much fun and it kinda helps me bond with my host brother since we don't speak the same language. So for now, i will remain the big, ugly monkey (until i learn the
Min MorThis is my thrid host mom. Mor. :)
words for "beautiful swan"). :o)
That morning, i went with My other counselor Kristian (yes, there are many Kriatians here.) and we got my Danish social security number and my bank accont here. In some places my USAA card will not work so i needed an account here. I decided to also get a cell phone here so i have a nice cell phone now. But i will not call to the USA from it!! :o) Then Kristian showed me all the great and expensive shops around Copenhagen. Kristian is so nice and so helpful!! He helps me ALL the time!! And everyone in the Rotary club spoils me real bad!! :o) But they are all great people and i love them!
The next day my family and i went to my far Michael's grandmother's funeral. It wasn't very mornful because they said she lived to be a 100 years old and lived a very full life. So we drove to the part of Denmark next to Germany. It was a countryside and so different from the big city where live. It was nice to see! After the funeral, we went to the beach on the southwestern coast
(and all day me and Kristian called each other dumb, ugly monkeys and i practiced my Danish with him. He was able to practice his English with me! We gotta system). It was SO lovely!! I would love to go there to swim sometime. As we were leaving, we picked some flowers and ate these wild tasteless berries. My mor Esther was SO happy when we passed a bunch of starlings. I guess they looked for them for a long time but this was the first time they'd seen them like they wanted. We ate pizza and had coffee before going home in the rain.
Today i visited the headdmaster to arrange my subjects and my schedule. As far as i know, i have a spanish class, a danish class, an english class, a social science class, a greek history/politics/myth class, a math class, and a PE class i think. So, on Tuesday, i'll see my classmates and my school. Today was the first day i biked around the city and i was SO scared! They get SO close to passing cars and i have no idea exactly what to do!! I mean i can bike but not like

the Danes. I am still too scared to bike again. So instead i just walked around the city and saw stores. But it started raining. So i walked home but i LOVE the rain so i decided to walk in the rain and enjoy it. I love Denmark.
This Sunday, i am going to a soccer game with my third host far!! Aaaaand we have VIP tickets!! :o) So i am excited for that too! Love Kara

If the little mermaid was in Danish that is perfect because you probably know the words they are saying in English, a great exercise to start out! Besides, how can you not love the singing crab thing?
I am glad you are having a nice time!
Hugs!
Michelle

Kara, I am sooooo glad you are enjoying yourself in Denmark and having fun. Write me soon with what I asked for in my PM. Have fun with all your classes and extra activities... I am so happy you saw the "Little Mermaid", Hans Christian Anderson is a national treasure. Tell your host families that we miss you and to take care of you too. ;o) All my love!
Grant says, "Hi Kara, how's Denmark? How is school? Do you have to wear special clothes for school? I miss you and I am doing football and starting school." "Football is hard and we lost our first game :(. I think Hobbes and Joey are missing you and so am I..." "I hope you are having a good time." "I am missing and loving you!"
Mom says, "It sounds like you are getting totally spoiled...of course, my little princess....between the two clubs and two couselors, I imagine you are running them ragged. Your host mom, Ester emailed me, she says we have a lot to be proud of with you....keep up the good relations and make us even more proud, make smart choices.... It is just starting to get to all of us without you here, missing your smile, your laugh and the boyz are missing your teasing and tickling, Duncan misses hangin out with you, although Duncan and Gregg aren't real good about expressing it, they are missing you terribly, so keep blogging, it helps and we will try to keep up. Loved all the pics, you look so happy.... I will email later.
Love, Mom and Grant
