Prague

Solid overnight train from Krakow, only 4 people in an 8 people compartment. Ash and I actually managed to get some sleep thank god so when we arrived in Prague at 7am, we were rearing to go!

After checking in, we went up to Prague Castle. An amazing complex perched up on a hill with some great buildings. There was a giant church with a bell tower, so being the young fit man I am, i climbed it and luckily it boasted a great view from the top! You could see the whole of prague. Later on i watched the changing of the guard which was interesting. It was a full on military show with a parade, music and bravado.

From there we walked slowely back to the hostel. We walked along Charles Bridge which features in the end scene of XXX, which i worked out once i saw it. Its so exciting to recognise places from movies!

Ash went out later that night but i was spent so i hit the hay for an early one.

The next day i went out on my own to explore more of Prague. The best place was Vysehrad which is an area on the hill opposite the Castle thats off the tourist map which was great because I get so sick of the hoards of tourists! Again i got to see some amazing views. There were ancient Roman ruins, another giant church and some gorgeous park land. Soon it started to poor down so i made my way back to the hostel.

At the hostel had a few drinks with some english blokes who were great value. Ash came back and we all played some cards, they had some Absynth (devils drink) so they were pretty merry. Later we all went out to sample some Czech night life. We found a great venue however as it was tuesday night it wasnt that busy.

Woke up this morning feeling suprisingly good considering my dirnking habits, had breakfast and went out again for my last day in Prague.
