St.John of NepomukSt.John of Nepomuk
St.John of Nepomuk

We're not exactly sure why this is good luck but when in Prague...
Prague had the most beautiful architecture we've seen. The whole city was gothic and mysterious looking. We spent hours in the old section of the town and the Jewish quarter just looking at random buildings. We can't figure out the name of our favorite building but check out the picture and anyone who has been to Prague feel free to tell us! We also visited the Prague Castle and took a walking tour which was supposed to last for one hour but we had a very enthusiastic new guide so it ended up being closer to two hours! Our favorite part of it was St. Vitus' Cathedral which was built over three centuries and had beautiful stained glass. From the castle we walked across St. Charles bridge, a 600 year old bridge that has 32 statues of saints on both sides of it. The most visited statue is that of St. John of Nepomuk who was thrown off the bridge to his death and for some uknown reason it is considered good luck to rub the statue. Also while we were there we felt brave and went out for traditional Czech food and we LOVED it. With the food we drank

This building pretty much sums up Prague's architecture but we can't figure out the exact name. It might be the House at Stone Bell but we're not sure since we can't see a bell.
Budweiser, don't freak out, we didn't go all the way to the Czech Republic to drink bad beer! We drank the original Budweiser made in Czech, or Budvar as they call it. We really enjoyed the Czech Republic but it was so difficult with all the signs in a completely different alphabet! We were actually excited to get back to Germany but we were only there for two hours before we left to go to Poland where the language barrier got even worse!

Peace and Love,
Liz and Andrea

P.S. Liz spent hours this morning adding pictures to the past journal entries so go back an look at them and post a little comment so we know someone other than our parents read this thing!

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain These are the true stories of Liz and Andrea's Excellent Adventure...... full info
