So I think I should address the dance club. A nice sized group of us went last night. We left at about 8:30 and got there early because they only charge 70 crowns before a certain time (I think it’s 9?). At first it was a little awkward because there weren’t very many people there and no one was dancing. After a while the place got pretty packed. There are five floors to the club (it’s name escapes me right now, Karlovy Lazne maybe?) with different music on each floor. It was a blast once I was convinced to dance (I voted we go to the techno floor first because everyone looks ridiculous dancing to techno regardless of whether they’re actually a good dancer). Over the course of the night I think I danced to Thriller no less than five times…though I suppose that’s to be expected. We left the club around two, I think. I know the metro wasn’t running anymore and it was three by the time I got to bed, so we were there for a decent amount of time.
Today was apparently not the castle trip. But a big group of us decided to go into Prague and do some sightseeing. We split up before we actually left, though, and three of us went to Prague Castle again to take our time and investigate it thoroughly. I have a good many pictures from that today. We went through the Old Palace, St. Vitus’ Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica, and checked out the dungeons. It was pretty amazing. The stained glass in St. Vitus was absolutely beautiful. I took a good many pictures, and I think we spent a good 15 minutes looking at just one of the windows. After the castle we just walked around Prague for a while, through the Old Town Square, around town to some shops and cafes, and then to the Powder Gate and Wenceslas Square. I think we spent about seven or eight hours in the city today. I didn’t get to take many pictures, though because my batteries died right after we left the castle.
There’s not much for me to talk about today, now that I think about it. I do have some pictures, though. I even took some of campus yesterday, so you can all see the lovely soviet buildings I’m living in. Tomorrow is the castle (really this time), so I hope I have some good pictures and a better entry for everyone!
