... [more]Hey all!
Well, it has been an intense school week with another now underway—I am basically in English Teaching Hell! We had the day off yesterday—it was a national holiday here (the anniversary of the Velvet Revolution when Communism peacefully left the country). It was nice to have a 3 day weekend, even though 2 of the 3 days were spent doing schoolwork—at the mall! That’s right—I now spend more time at the mall on the weekends then most teenagers do—this is because that is the only place other then school that I can get internet access…and a new pair of shoes all at the same time.
Living in Prague is just like living in NYC so it isn’t quite the culture shock I had expected it to be… of course there are the little differences. Many of the bars have slot machines in them (if there is a slot machine it’s not a bar you really want to hang out in). The cost of beer is much less than the cost of water so “Pivo” it is (just kidding—I wish I had time to drink like that!) If you go clothes shopping MAKE SURE YOU WANT WHAT YOU’VE

Photo 2That would be the hose into the tub…the shower situation is a whole other story
PURCHASED! There is no return policy here unless the item is damaged and you can prove somehow beyond a reasonable doubt that you didn’t do it! I can think of a few people that would have a problem not having he option o return something…(Maria, Eileen, Etc.) The movie theater s also a fascinating place—you are ASSIGNED SEATS! You can’t just sit wherever you want to—the ticket has your seat number on it and YES you will be yelled at if you are sitting in someone else’s seat! If you don’t purchase your tix together then you won’t be sitting with the people you came with
So I thought I would show you quickly what my “flat” looks like since if I’m not in school or at the mall I’m here ALL OF THE TIME!
Love you guys…
