Very Pregnant
And she does not look happy.
We never know what we are going to find when we walk the streets of Prague and today, Saturday, was no different. We were walking to a subway station when we saw an old building. At first I, Bill, thought it might be an old factory. The architecture did not fit my idea of a factory. My next thought was an old, large, elaborate apartment building. We walked past the end of the building and saw that the front was quite fancy. That settled it, we had to find out what the place was and take a few pictures. We had noticed as we approached the building that we were passing several buildings that were various departments of a hospital. As we neared the front door we saw a sigh, in Czech of course, with words that we realized said, Gynecolory and Obstetrics. One of the front doors was open so I stuck my head inside.
WOW, it was beautiful, the type of beauty you find here in the Czech Republic in old buildings. I called to Nancy and we entered, not knowing if we would be thrown out or not. We weren't, but a nurse did keep an eye on
us as we walked around and I took pictures. Nancy-Well, I think I was the one who first saw the building and took a fit over it. But he's right you never know what beautiful things you will find just about everywhere. I loved the building. Even the place where the receptionist sat was obviously old and part of some sort of religious building from long ago. It was made of fine wood and exactly like little structures I have seen in many cathedrals. I don't know what you call them so I can't be any more specific about what it used to be. The internal stairways were just magnificent. We have a pregnant friend here who we started on today to please have her baby in that hospital so we could get a chance to visit and see more of it. I think we pushed our luck as far as we could on Saturday by walking right into the ward halls and striding along as if we knew where we were going. That nurse had our number alright and didn't take her eyes off of us until we headed back out the door. Oh yes, the fancy brickwork on
the outside of the building was glazed on top with tile. Some of it had been damaged through the years but most was intact and really showed some fancy brickworkers had worked on it.
