It's weird, after staying in all day we went for a walk at about 6:30 hoping to enjoy the festivities at the old square market. I had read that on Xmas eve the food stalls stay open until midnight, wrong, the whole market was closed. There were still plenty of people around the square and bus loads of tourists walking past our door to the bridge but nothing apart from the mini mart and the occasional restaurant was open. We actually got to see what Prague looks like without people around because the streets off the main tourist route were empty.
