In BrnoCarey was actually trying to duck out of the way of Miles' picture, but now it looks like he's part of the graffiti, cool huh?
I wrote this email to my friend Jess, and I realized that it really summed up the great time I have been having here. I also supplemented it with some of my favorite pics from the trip thus far.
"I love living here Jess, this city makes me feel free, this town just gives so much independence...and it feels alive. I always thought it was funny when people described places with genders, but Prague is definitly a woman, and she is strong and independent and vibrant and beautiful. I probably sound crazy...
My Czech intensive class went well. It was only the first two weeks of school and it was the only class we had five days a week for four hours. Everyone had to take it but some classes were more relaxed than others. My prof. was really neat and he took us on a field trip everyday after a lesson on grammar or vocab. and he took us to interesting places around Prague, so I felt very orientated right away. We went to pubs and learned how to order beers correctly and he took us to museums and other historical attractions. Everyone drinks with their teachers here, such

a different concept. Of course, Neal's teacher was a lot more strict, but he learned a lot of Czech, all I can do is pronounciation and numbers...oh well, I don't see myself needing Czech anytime soon. There was one class that started off the day taking shots of Absynth (that's a 70% alcohol that's popular here, and I finally found out the real way to drink it cause I finally asked a bartender. You should be served the shot with a package of sugar and a spoon and you spill the sugar onto the spoon, put a little absynth on the spoon and light it on fire to carmelize the sugar then pour it into your shot and down it, just in case you were wondering).
In other news, I am doing an internship at the local high school. I am part of a group here that goes to the high school once a week and chats with the students n an English class. Its a very interesting experience and I hope that it is at all rewarding for the kids, because I think its great for me to experience Czech culture throught relationships with the kids."
We are suppose
to teach them English slang so they sound cool but I don't think I'm cool enough to teach them anything. The teacher today asked me if its true if the word "awesome" is now replacing the word "cool." Kinda?
I finally pillaged my friends pics and have supplemented this entry with my favorite pictures from the trip thus far.
My friend JonWe go to Museums together cause we go at the same pace, its always good to have a museum buddy.
Oh, ZZ comes on all the excursions with us. He is our tour guide and he is the smartest man alive and we love him.

Jen, thanks for turning your camera on my son. I warned him to make sure he was in pics, or he'd have a trip that looked as if he all he did was buy postcards. It's great that we live in a time where there's opportuinty for so many students to experience what you guys are experiencing. It's "awesome"!
