After 'local' projects (Belgium) I was assigned to an abroad projet again, once the inital phaze passed, it was time to go abroad and perform some work on the client side, Czech Republic, Prague this time...never been there before, not even to the country as such.
Historically I don't know much about Czech Republic, and I did not expected much, to my surprise ..Prague has a lot of nice to offer.
The first day (and night ) I was feeling too ill( sever cold) to go out altough I did had a nice chat with the lady in the lobby, she told me almost the whole history of Prague, the castle, the cathedral, old town square, the bridge...doing so she made me curious, plan was to go out the next evening and see some of this city.
The finishing the second day I went straight to the hotel, dropped off my laptop, papers and changed clothes in a blink of an eye, just to get down again and jump back into a taxi.
the trip down to the Castle was short and cheap LOL
I went trough the castle , around the catherdral and then down to the city centre (meanwhile the camera
sayed poletly .. batteries depleted..bummer) , over the bridge, following the packs of people that where all heading the same direction
Once at old tow square I was a bit frightened , thousands of people where gathering here for a free concert of one of the welknown Czech musicians... I did not understand a single word they where saying but the music and the pack of people did gave the whole square something surrealistic..
I costed me more than half an our to get across (and to find a shop with batteries for my camera)
but did not want to go into the crowd again so I went the opposite direction, first entered a pedestrian area, where I found my dinner ... some guy making smoked ham in the middle of the street above charcoal..hmm..very tasty, got a nice chat with a Brazil couple, then headed on again, further away from the square, ending up at once of Prague's main road. at that time I was starting to feel ill again coughing and sneezing ...at then end ,took a a taxi back to the hotel, ordered a 'strong' drink and went to bed , I'll probalby go back coming week,
wish too make more pictures and see more of prague (without the crowd)
Take care,
Luc
