1: Beautiful music from street buskers 30 secs
This will be replaced by the player.
Morning: Today, we are leaving Berlin and it's w a heavy heart, prob cos we spent too much time here and got abit attached and also our host wouldn't let us go...haa. Anyway we woke up real early today to prepare breakfast for Johannes before we leave and also before he leaves for work. Woke up at 7:30am and cooked French toast, actually it's not me, it's WY, I was just spreading the butter...Finally had the nice breakfast only at 9+ and we had our usual 'chat' until it was time to get ready to go. Johannes was nice to stay on and send us off at the busstop before he leaves for work which means late cos we only left at 10+. Caught the bus, said our goodbyes to him and went to the Berlin train station. Memories of us stranded there came back and we quickly went to the platform and waited for the train to Dresden.
Afternoon: We nearly skipped this place till Johannes said we shld go and it is really true! The old town is filled w beautiful old architecture, our cameras were kept busy all the while. We left our bags in the train
station locker and took a tram right to the new town first before walking down the bridge to the old town. The new town was not as interesting tho, so it was a quick walk. Crossed the bridge and we reached the Semperoper, the Opera house first, then we went to the Zwinger, a palace w huge garden and kind of a fortress all around it. Very very beautiful! And it has porcelain bells that rang beautiful melodies when the time is exact. We walked around the Zwinger and actually met some Singaporeans there on a tour package there. Surprised that Dresden is included in our tours...Then we got hungry and searched for food, which ended up in a cafe w coffee and a piece of bread. We continued on the walking tour and as we walked thru a tunnel, suddenly beautiful music reached my ears and hit me w a sudden emotion. Wow, can't believe it's from street buskers playing the strings in the tunnel. Recorded a part of their performance and decided to try and find the music if i got the chance. Went into Hofkirche next, then to the street that has the 'Procession of Princes' porcelain
mural covering the wall and we walked thru the gardens to reach the most beautiful building, the Frauenkirche. It's shaped like a dome and unfortunately it is closed to the public that day so we couldn't see much inside. By the time, we have almost finished our day trip and we walked to the tram station to take the tram back to the train station to catch the train to Prague. But we still have half hour to spare so I went shopping again at the malls and we went on our way to wait for the train.
Night: Caught the 6pm train and reached Prague at about 8pm. We didnt manage to get a host here so we headed towards the hostel we booked by taking the underground to IP Pavlova. Then we realise they dun accept Euro at all so we have to change our money at the money changer. Of course, it wasn't a good rate and they commissioned 5% off! Daylight robbery!! Took the tram and reached the hostel, it was chaotic when we reached and can u believe it, there was this Chinese man who told us to be careful of our belongings cos
he jus lost everything in that hostel. We were shocked so we jus kept quiet and keep in mind his words. By the time we settled down, it was dark already so we jus thot to visit the supermarket and grab a quick dinner to end the long day.
