Friday 31stMay to Wednesday 5th June Cres-Losinj Islands The forecast has improved and we are in for some sunshine again. The ferry to Porozina on the north of Cres was straight forward. Cres is the second biggest Croatian island but is sparsely populated and seems only to have one road from the port along the island. The road is in the process of being improved and made for an interesting driving experience as traffic unloading from the ferry met traffic coming towards the port. We stopped off in Cres Town for provisions before crossing the narrow channel at Osor (a tiny walled town) that separates Cres from the island of Losinj. Curtis and I are quite compatible as travellers. His laid back, "go with the flow" attitude counterbalances my incessant worrying and detail-oriented character. As husband and wife, we are a team in all aspects of our relationship, complementing each other very well. However, after spending 24 hours a day together for the last 39 days we have somehow evolved into Abbott and Costello! The old "Who's On First?" routine pretty much sums up how several of our conversations go in a day! There are some moments where we just look at each other during a discussion, shake our heads because the conversation between us has made absolutely no sense at all and we have been talking in circles. One Friday in late November 2010, Kiki had this invitation of attending some presentation of the project he supervised few months before. He had to assess the progress of some project on new technology to enhance olive oil production or something like that. The presentation took place in Vodnjan, one city in Istria. So it just crossed my mind suddenly: another Istria trip! And Kiki had the same thought, so we just hit the road, without any planning of how long we'd stay, where we'd sleep, or anything like that. We arrived in Vodnjan around 4 pm. Vodnjan is just about 10 km on north of Pula. So we took the same route as we did before, when we did the Pula-Rovinj-Opatija trip. Vodnjan was typical Istria.
