Croatia!!

Heyy!!

Its been a while since weve updated this, weve had limited access to the internet.

However we have just finished our one week sail along the Croatian coast. We left Santorini on a flight to Athens (8 hour stop over) then a flight to Zagreb in Croatia and we had to sleep at the airport. It was absolutely freezing as we forgot to pack some warm clothes. We woke up in the morning and took a short flight to Split which is where our ferry was leaving from.

Our boat had approx 20 people on it. Mostly Aussies and Kiwis with a few Canadian and Americans. All of the people were great! Very down to earth and it was really enjoyable listening to peoples travel plans.

The Croatian coast was amazing!! The water was crystal blue and there were lots of rocky mountains. On most days we stopped off and had time to swim in the Adriatic. We also got to jump off the top of the boat which was awesome!

We stopped along the way at some smal towns but it was just awesome to be sailing with blue skies, blue water and hot weather!

We stayed a night in Hvar and got to watch Croatia play in the European Cup. AS an understatement, every time they scored people were running around mad! Jumping up and down screaming and throwing flares everyone! It was pretty cool stuff!

Half way through the trip we went to Dubrovnik and it was a beautiful city. The old city had these very high walls which protected the local people a long time ago. Shama and i walked along it and it looked impossible for an invading army to conquer it. We both got a little sea sick so we decided to spend a couple of days in Dubrovnik. We explored a little more and it really was an amazing city.

We caught a 4 hour bus ride back through Bosnia and caught up with the group again in Split.

It was a little sad leaving some of the people as we have formed some life long friends which we will hopefully see again in the future.

Tomorrow we are catching a cruise to Italy and we wil be starting our train trip throughout Europe!!
