Carpeeee Dieeeem

If you are not a st. louis sports radio listener, you probably wont get the title, just thought i would pass that along. well, we have actually just arrived in Munich via an overnight train frmo Zagreb, Croatia, and are starting prep for two days of Oktoberfest. Our last day in on Hvar was actually a bit cloudy, and we tried to take a ferry over to Brac or Korcula, but the times just didnt match up with what our schedule was, basically, we wouldnt have been able to get back til the next morning. So, we just hung out on the harbor, and then enjoyed a night out on the town at the basically only bar in Hvar, Carpe Diem. It was a great time, and our new friends from chicago were there for the second night in a row. Along the way, we also went to a great beach bar, Hula Hula and a great dinner at Luna, were we had some seafood risotto and sea bass.

So, yesterday, we overslept for our 630 am ferry, and watched it take off as we were running up to the harbor waving (like there was any chance they were going to stop the boat for two tourists with backpacks). We hung around the harbor, I enjoyed an unreal pastry with sausage inside, and we were off to Split. From there, we had 6 hours to kill, so we just napped on the beach, and had some lunch. We trained it to Zagreb, and then straight on through Slovenia, Austria, and on in to munich about an hour ago.

Enough cannot be said about Croatia. Awesome spot. Even though I had been there before, it still blew me away. Better get there soon before it just gets totally totally overrun with tourists. my only regret is that we didnt see more of the country. we were not able to make it to either national park or other island, but i am vowing to see them soon. Chris has been equally impressed, and since he had never been here, and was just relying on my stories, which can be exaggerated at times, that is saying something.

anyway, hope all is well in the states or wherever you are reading this from. We will be having a beer for all our friends that arent here, and I will be pouring a little out for Erik Johnson, who i have just learned will miss the entire season due to a golfing accident.
