I don't know what is going on with this Vespa, but it is SWEET!
There's something you should know about Gent. I don't know if the rest of Belgium is like this, but everything is closed on Sunday (except for museums, and bars, and the movie theater...OK, so not everything is closed, but a lot of stuff is. Leave me alone). Anyway, on this particular Sunday I was bored, it was drizzling outside (it drizzles quite frequently in Belgium), so I decided to walk around. I moseyed through a couple of markets, including the Sunday junk market. I bought a few used books, one of which was a youth hostel guide from 1966. I also bought a scarf for 5 Euro's, and my friend Christina told me it looks like a Burberry (how's that for a bargain?!). Then I bought a cool WC (water closet) sign as a souvenir. After that I just walked around for a while taking pictures. It was very relaxing.

More info on pet market
Hi there, I've just returned from Ghent, Belgium myself and walked through the (Pet Market), the correct name is 'De Vrijdag Markt' which literally translates as 'The Friday Market'. You must try the Belgium chips and stoverij meat stew that they sell in the green cabin on the side of the market....bootiful!! Also a bit of history for you the statue in the middle is of Jacob van Artevelde. He is famous for introducing the textile industry into Belgium from England.

Thanks Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, Joe, I'm aware that the name of the open area is "De Vrijdag Markt" (I live here, remember), but I was referring to the market itself, not the physical location. Depending on which day you visit De Vrijdag Markt, you may find clothes, food, pet supplies, etc.
