The wee pissing boyWe weren't in Brussels very long before we went in search of the Maneken Pis.
After being inspire by various brilliant travel blogs, and being driven by the mundanity of dermatology revision, I'm going to start recounting my travels. And possibily adding new things, as times passes on
This is a quickie, that'll probably be edited greatly.
Belgium was the first stop in continental Europe. With my buddy Yen Nian. As yes, it did rain...a lot! Was also my first flight with Ryanair, the start of a long and fulfilling relationship with budget air travel.
We arrived at some godawful airport in the middle of Belgium, not speaking a word of French or Flemish, but miraculous managed to find out way to a youth hostel.
I remember the baguette and chocolate spread. It was still a novelty then!
We did the tourist hotspots, Maneken Pis, and the Grote Markt. And then Mini Europe. I have a thing of theme parks!
And of course...Mussels in Brussels. The Rue Petite Boucher ( Street of Butchers, ironically), with the best, most visually appetizing seafood..ever! And some pretty friendly waiters.
Onward to Bruge. Beautiful canals, lots of Belgian chocolate, and the start of my relationship with Belgian Framboisen...Thank god for Centraal!!
Lots
of pictures ( because my memory fails me!)
A canal cruise in BrugesThe man nattered away for about twenty minutes in Flemish, and then said "Zee House of blablabla"
