There is the smell
The smell is coming from that direction Brussels is famous as the unofficial capital of Europe and the place where many business people come. However their landmarks are something different.
I thought there was a miss-print in my book, but no. Their grand palace or square has beautiful statues on top of the buildings all pointing in different directions. The statues are pointing to...who tooted {who farted}. All around town the statues point in a different direction of who passed the gas. The other famous landmark here is of man peeing. Seriously???
Besides all of the funny statues Brussels is a beautiful city with a lot of culture. The people are very nice and curious as to American politics. Last night I had dinner with a lovely couple currently from Belgium but originally from the Congo. They each speak four languages and their English was very broken. We shared one of the local specialties - mussels and frities {french fries}. Very good.
Belgium is known for their chocolate and beer amongst other things. The chocolate was delicious BUT extremely expensive - like 10USD per quarter of a pound. I was lucky because most shops provided samples. The beer was also good, but dont remember too
Over there?
Is the smell coming from over there? much since it was too cold!
I can not believe we have these things called Belgium waffles in the states - the true Belgium waffles are amazing and do not taste like anything from the states.
Oh, it is cold now. Probably like 30 degrees farenheit. You dont notice it. so much for the high 40s they had last week.
Now off to Paris...
