My final day in Brussels was good. My final thoughts on Brussels is that if I wouldn't have met Hayley then it would have been quite boring. After showering and eating some breakfast Hayley and I headed out to the beer museum. It was in my travel book and sounded like fun. We got there and paid to go into it but it was a bust!! It was just a room with the equipment to make beer and then a movie playing telling you about it. The only good thing was we got a beer with the entry fee. After this we headed to the Manneken Pis. This is the symbol of Brussels, you are never going to believe what it is...it's a little boy holding his penis peeing and it's a fountain. Everyone here loves it and they sell little statues of it, and bottle openers with it...it's so odd. And the actual boy is so small. There is rumored to be a girl squatting somewhere but we had no luck finding it. Also a lot of the city smells like pee. Hayley and I concluded that this is because of the statue, the symbol of the town is someone peeing so I guess people take it upon themselves to pee where ever they would like to. haha.
After this adventure we headed to a park that one of the guys in the b and b recommended. It was really pretty and we walked around a bit there. Europeans really love their parks. Everyone was just hanging out there and having a great time. I have really enjoyed the parks here. After this we walked around some more around the Grand Place (center of town) and then headed back to the b and b. We are now having a beer and chatting :)
So I have decided to skip Lux City because I didn't really know what I wanted to see there. Hayley is taking a trip to Bruges tomorrow and I have decided to join her. Bruges is supposed to be prettier than Brussels and even more tourists go there than Brussels. I am excited to see it!!
Here is the rest of my trip (subject to change!!):
-Take an over night train to Interlaken Switz tomorrow night, stay there for 3 nights
-Then it's off to Geneva instead of Zurich like I had planned. Geneva sounded like much more fun and it's on a lake so swimming?
-then To Vienna for 3 nights
-Prague for 4
-Berlin for a couple of days and then ending in Munich :)
Abby I'm still wearing my evil eyes and they are protecting me!! Thanks for the comments!!

Send Private MessageHey girl, I just caught up on your adventure. It sounds like you are having an absolutely amazing time. I'm glad you met Hayley and are planning to travel with her. I wish I were with you.
taylor: Sounds like you're having a blast over there. My surgery was a success this morning. They repaired my ACL using part of my hamstring, then they were able to fix the lateral miniscus which means I will be on crutches for a month, as opposed to a week. I am just laying in my hotel and hanging out with Ian. I am in A LOT of pain but I got percocet and vicodin. I am scared for tomorrow because my nerve block will wear off and I will be in much more pain. I am just taking it one day at a time.
On another note:So happy you met hayley, she sounds fun! I love this website because I really wanted to call you but clearly I couldn't. I miss you and I love. Don't worry about me I am doing well.
Tay!! Funny thing about Brussels smelling like pee... Anyway are you going to stop in Italy at all? Did you use your french very much in France? Was it hard not knowing the language? I miss you!!
I am sad I missed when you were here cuz I really want the little statue of the boy peeing lol -
