Hello Everyone!!
Early in the morning I headed to the train station to get the train to Brussels which is a 2 1/2 hour train ride, not bad! A little background when I got to Paris I wanted to get my Eurorail pass validated but wasn't really sure how to go about doing it. I talked to someone there and she told me just to fill it out so I did. Well she was wrong and only a ticket person can fill it out and in order to use your pass it has to be validated. So that really sucked but when I used it last time they just yelled at me but I still got to ride the train. Well in Amsterdam they spoke better English and told me I had to pay 30 euros (so much money!!) to get a new pass because the one I wrote on isn't valid. This pass is my only way of getting around so I paid the euros and now everything is okay! It kinda sucks that I had to pay that much but I guess I now know for next time....
Once in Brussels I had to take the tram, it's like a mixture between a bus and a train...I got my ticket for it and jumped on the tram off to my hostel. As I started walking around trying to find my hostel the neighborhood was a little sketchy (I later found out that no one is out on Sunday mornings so that is why is was so odd). I found the door and rang the bell like I was told to do. Much to my surprise I am staying in a bed and breakfast!! There are still 2 bunk beds in my room so it's kinda like a hostel but the staff is much nicer. There is a family that lives here in the house and they run the Bed and Breakfast. They also have a dog named Ceaser!!! He is the best and loves me the most! Karl owns this place and he sat me down when I got here and gave me maps and told me how to get around etc. I am so happy to randomly pick this place! It was the cheapest option on Hostelworld.com so i really lucked out.
Here I met a guy from Egypt and a girl from Kentucky but she had been working in London for the past 6 months. There were heading out when I got in and offered for me to come with them. It was great! We spent the whole day walking around seeing lots of things. They have this huge Atom structure, it's the weirdest thing ever!!! Hayley (Kentucky girl) and I got some beers later and then we all headed back to the b and b, where we continued to drink and have girl talk. Today Hayley and I are going to walk around some more and maybe go to some museums including the beer museum.
Coming to Brussels was random and last minute but I'm so happy I stopped here. OH for TNBC I got hogarrden in a can!! It was just as yummy as the bottle and much cheaper!
I miss you all and can't thank you enough for all the comments!
