Troon Funkin Blow

We took the Thalys high speed train to Brussels on Tuesday morning. Trains are fast! But they're so smooth, you don't really get sense of it, until you have some other reference. We were next to an expressway for part of it, and were proabbly going more than twice as fast as the cars and trucks, so that's something. I made a cool video, half by accdient, that, again, I can't post right now.

Brussels is really cool. We were pretty mezmorised by the scene. The architecture is really cool and I took about a million... no, two million pictures. I'm sure I'll take less and less as we become less impressed by things. We walked the town that afternoon, and pretty much saw all the sights. Our first sight, no joke, was a parking garage... What? It was free, and had a great view of the city from the top! So yeah, a parking garage.

Today we went to some of the outlying sites with the help of the metro, including the beloved Atomium. The Atomium is a relic of Expo '58, and is a giant model of an atom.... or at least what they thought an atom was in 1958. Inside, we expected it to be a hilarious explanation of what an atom is, but instead it was the history of Expo '58, which was kind of lame. Still, travelling from molecule to molecule by escalator was a good time. Oh, and they had a model of the Atomium inside the Atomium. So presumably, there's another smaller atom inside that... So think about that, all you chemists out there.

We ate lunch in a nearby park. Everything is extremely green. I waved at a rabbit, and it ran away. Neil somehow got breadcrumbs in his eye, and cut up the inside of his mouth a bit. I learned how to open yogurt. That pretty much sums it up.

We also saw the (free) military museum, and European parliament, and are about to have a grocery store dinner.

...Oh yeah, Troon is a metro stop, and "funkin blow" is from Fubar.... so that half explains the title of this entry.
