April 15, Wednesday. After an early “get-up” we biked along the Danube from Melk to Aggsbach Market. It was cool going and warm returning. Such a lovely ride in and out of quaint town and stopping for a coffee break here and there.
After the morning bike ride, we are now in search of propane. It seems most campers have small tanks, like our bar-b-que tank, and it is difficult to communicate propane from a hose into our holding tank. Will continue to try.
We are now in Krems along the Danube, a charming university town. This area is ideal for bikers, hikers, and campers. The campground is right on the Danube with grand scenery.
April 16. Thursday. This was a full day of biking, we followed the Danube east to the medieval town of Durenstein, then on to Spitz for lunch. The Spar is a local grocery store and they make sandwiches—so we enjoyed on a bench along the Danube. The only problem with a campground we have to bike back!
We now
have direction for propane in the next town Tulln.
April 17,Krems to Tulln and we got Propane!! Yes we can cook and keep the “frig” going!!
Today we continued to a campground outside Vienna…Klosterneuburg. Transportation is just down the street.
We caught up on laundry and began walking around town. Up some hills we found the Abbey. It is huge complex, the churches, so far, in Austria, are not “warm and fuzzy” in many there is a large iron gate at the nave preventing people from walking around.
