In Salzburg

I had been to Austria twice, once when I was in Germany I had a Shengen Visa and hence visited Austria as a tourist, and the second time it was my official trip to Comneon. I enjoyed the first time I went. Actually it started like this, we wanted to go to Werfen and to the Konigsee Islands (Infact Konigsee lake is the largest freshwater lake in Germany). When I went for the first time, I went with Guzza to Salzburg and because I had a company I could enjoy well but the second time it was work, work, work and hence I really could not enjoy much. This really fitted well the rhyme "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".

Ok, first letme talk about my first trip and then I take you to my second trip tour. We took a train to Werfen (actually Salzburg) from Frankfurt, it was about 2 hours of journey. We directly reached Salzburg and was hunting for a youth hostel, the thing I like in Europe is the clear directions and organised planing, you have a map and follow the symbols you could reach any place. The youth hostel symbol was a tree and a house together and we could get a room in the hostel in Salzburg. The hostel was nominal for Euro 20 per night per person and was very decent.

Then after checking in we relaxed for a while and headed towards the Ice caves which is situated in the border of Germany/Austria. The Icecaves are so high and even in summer there was lot of ice in it, some dripping as they were melting. It was told that it was found by a soldier during world war II. The caves were so dark and cool that you need to cover your hands other wise the fingers might frost, also we need to carry a lamp to guide our way in the darkness. The stairs were so steep and bending your legs is a difficult task due to the chillness inside the cave. We also had our guides who could explain about the cave in English/German and Dutch.

After the caves we were walking to a national forest preserve where the trees were burnt by forest fire and it was more like a zoo only. Then we strolled around the city market area when evening fell. In the evening the fun started

Puneet wanted to go a bar and we were trying to hunt down a bar which is cheap and fun filled. We were also very tired of roaming the whole day and so we also wanted to relax after our drinks. We ultimately found a bar named Sega bar. As soon as we enterend a lady at the main entrance collected Euro 3 and let me in after stamping my hand with a symbol. I went for a beer initially while Guzza went for smirnoff cocktail and then we were listening to music and sighting all the girls when I got a company from a girl, I started talking to her and Puneet disappeared saying he will get me some more beer. After a while we left and were trying to find a way back to the hostel when Puneet took me in the wrong direction by giving some fundas, then as I was still stable could sense and took him back to the hostel. Guzza said we will get up early and go to Konigsee but the next morning he was still sleeping when I woke up and still wanted to sleep.

Then after waking him up and getting ready we packed up, left the hostel and took the train to Konigsee. It was a group of 3 Islands and we went till the second island. This is the most beautiful place on earth I felt when I first saw that. The water is so frest that you could see your face in it. We also went to a restaurant in the island and had some fish. The did some shopping and need to take the train back to Nuremberg, we were already delayed to take the train and we had to wait for a while to catch the last train to return to Germany.
