After our first morning of sleeping in, Alex, Kelsey, and I did a bit of shopping, first stopping at the Casa de Formatge. This store is, as you may have guessed, entirely devoted to cheese and has ample free samples. There is also a restaurant on the 2nd floor that offers everything from raclette to fondue to just plain cheese tables. You can even buy a hardcore raclette device that really is just a heat source and cheese mount so you can actually just smother your food with melted cheese from one giant hunk - no fuss with paddles. I look forward to the day I have a mental breakdown and calm myself via shoving pounds of cheese from this place down my throat. This was definitely the holiday we were waiting for. From the moment we came back from Snowboarding in Bansko we wanted to go again, like kids in a Theme Park. The fact that Will and Chaz would be coming with us made it all even more exciting. We had five full great days snowboarding. The week started with Chaz falling, hitting his board on some poor man's head and having to be rescued by a snowmobile and it finished with Axelle having to give up half way through the last day due to, lets say, bottom injury. The apartment was at only five minutes walk to the lifts and we had a really nice view of the pists from our bedroom windows. Another trip to Pas de la Casa to practice my skiing. Much better conditions this year with 1m snow on the slopes. Chatted to a group on the bus journey who took pity on me and invited me to ski with them for the week. Also blagged my way into the intermediate group lessons and was bricking it when they started mentioning black runs and jumps! All I could keep thinking was that I've just handed in my notice at work and I have a medical next week for my new job - I can't afford to break anything!!!! Nevertheless onwards and up the six-man chair lift to the top, passing several boarding being stretched off the mountain!
