Pt. 3 The exhausted conquistador

and exhausted people DO screw up things, yes indeed. But first things first. Cancun beach is just EMEZING! White coral sand beaches, dolphins, manta rays and erm jelly fish, sharks, ... ok didn´t care much, went into the water, heard whistle had to get out. Had not see red flags, saw the waves though. Thought they were rather fun instead of them being dangerous.... Screw up of the day: Did not take map with me, hopped off the bus close to the hostel on a 20km long boulevard by pure luck.



next day Chichen Itza, the first of a number of cultural sites I will visit. Not writing much of the ruins here, no it was a majestetic scew up that made my day. Imagine this: Tired conquistador falls asleep on the bus. Wakes up and gets out in a rush - no it was the right stop, since there was only one anyway. Cnquistador realizes he does not see too much, must get glasses. Not on head - these are the sunglasses only. Checks bag. Not here. Checks again, takes everything out. Not there. Panicks mildly. Rushes to bus. Gone. Rushes to helpdesk. Gets information that driver has left for siesta in nearby town. Retrieves location of busdriver, driver somewhere for lunch. Waits one hour, gets glasses back. Rushes madly through one othe the greatest archeological sites worldwide because last bus would leave in already 3 hours. Side note: when it is 35 degrees and shade does not exisit, feeling COLD in the neck is an odd sign, expecially when the skin is already burnt. Took it as warning, was right to do so :D

Notes to self: must get good sleep and rid of jet lag
