Bergers hol in NZ 2010
HI there to all after a year or more being absent from the blogging scene. Im down here in Talum, Mexico on the Yucatan peninsula where at the moment its pouring with rain but it is hot and I did get to spend yesturday on the beach in the hot sun and aquired a tan. Ive been travelling from NZ since April after finishing renovating my house and garden, reletting it out, said goodbye to wonderful freinds and work mates at Mahu Tech where I actually worked for 16 months, (longest job in my life:::
and spent 5 days in Perth at a family get together, its had been 40 years or so since I had seen my Aunt and cousins there. I made a brief stop in Bangkok for 5 days then met my freind Carolyn in Japan for a 4 week trip around this beautiful country. We had a 21 day rail pass and visited all the usual tourist stops and also some smaller places in the mountains. We caught the tail end of the cherry blossoms and also several festivals. The hostels there are incredible and also cheap, ( between 20 and 30 US a night and spotless

clean and all the imentities u need including hot tubs in some. We also discovered dollar stores called 100yen stores everywhere where we bought cheap groceries to cook in hostels which kept the price down, althou eating in suchi bars was also very cheap. SO dont be put off by being told Japan is an expensive country to tour. It isint and its also very unique and people very freindly and helpful.
From Japan we flew to Alaska and did a 7 day cruise down the coast from Ancorage to Vancouver thru the glacier passage and scenry was awesome Also saw a beer, whales and moose. Spent 3 nights in Vancouver visited a cousin there then bussed to Seattle for couple of days. Flew onto New Yprk where a pilot took me out on the town to visit the Irish bars and watched the sun rise over the Hudson. Have spent the last month with Caros family in Atlanta swimming and camping in the woods and lakes and flew down here on Monday. The rest of her family are joining me next week and we are spending a week at a resort. Im flying onto London mid August to
find a flat and parttime work as Steve and Jo are expecting twins late Sept so I will be spending more time there than travelling for the next few years. Althou knowing me Ill be sneaking in as many adventures as I can. I hope to walk accross Corsica next May (anyone want to join me) then cycle thru France in spring as well. So once I have accomm in London anyone who wants to visit is very welcome, Ill find hammock or floor space somewhere for u.
So, thats the past year and next year sorted, Please email what u are all up too and Id love to visit as may European freinds as I can while Im living up in the northern hemisphere. Take care and love from >Kiwi Kay xxxxx
