09.00 - Wake up to the sound of Scott frying an egg or to the smell of Ciara making coffee.
09.01 - Open my eyes to see a very messy cabin and 4 bodies still attempting to sleep amongst the chaos.
09.20 - Eat breakfast that someone else has made for me (usually a full breakfast, French toast, pancakes or porridge)
10.00 - Shave my legs on deck and bathe in the sea.
10.10 - Rinse off using the fresh water from the tanks to avoid getting a rash from the sea water.
10.15 - Get dressed.
10.25 - Listen to Alex complain about having to do galley duty and someone has left the jam jar open.
10.30 - Wait for everyone else to get ready.
10.45 - Still waiting.
10.55 - Everyone is just about ready.
11.15 - Squeeze into the punt with another 4 people and steadily go to shore.
11.16 - Pray that the punt doesn’t sink and destroy the electricals that I am carrying in my bag.
11.30 - Wonder round the town looking at the shops and boutiques.
11.45 - See a beautiful item of clothing in one of the shops.
11.46 - Walk away from the item of clothing as it’s expensive and I can’t afford it.
12.30 - Find somewhere cheap to have lunch.
12.45 - Order chicken roti.
13.00 - Eat chicken roti.
13.20 - Pay 12EC$ (about £3) for the chicken roti.
14.00 - Take the usual punt journey back to Bob.
14.15 - Head to the bow of the boat with a cushion, a bottle of water and a book.
14.15 - 15.30 - Read and sunbathe.
15.35 - Start playing Mah Jong.
15.55 - Win the first game of Mah Jong.
16.25 - Win the second game of Mah Jong.
16.45 - Win the third game of Mah Jong.
16.50 - Stop playing Mah Jong because the others are bored of never winning.
17.15 - Put a pizza in the oven
17.15 - 18.15 - Hold the oven knob in a depressed position constantly as the oven doesn’t work otherwise.
18.20 - Eat pizza.
19.00 - Go to shore.
19.15 - Drink at the local bar where they sell 3 bottle of beer for 10EC$ (about £2.50).
22.30 - Try to unlock the padlock on the punt whilst intoxicated.
22.45 - Failing miserably at unlocking the padlock.
23.00 - Still failing.
23.15 - Unlock the padlock and go back to Bob, finally!
23.30 - Make some toast using just the gas hob as the pizza earlier wasn’t enough.
23.40 - Eat burnt toast.
23.55 - Clear the mess from my bed and put it wherever I can find space on the floor.
00.00 - Sleep.

Sarah Brooks
I am lucky enough to have a friend who owns a yacht, and I am even luckier to have been invited sailing round the Caribbean with him for the winter. Four of us will set sail from Bermuda to the Caribbean at the end of November. From there we will go from island to island before making the voyage back to Bermuda next April. I have been on this yacht once before - a few years ago when I spent four days sailing round Bermuda. That is my only sailing experience however, so this journey will be an interesting one…..lets hope I survive to tell the tale!... full info

Hello Sarah - I'd almost stopped reading your entries as I was starting to get too depressed by all those perfect sunsets and landscapes and all that idyllic living it up in hot springs and such. But then I saw the photos of the daily squalor, the on-deck leg shaving, the bloke on the toilet (!), that (I don't have a suitable adjective to describe it) baked bean concoction . . . and suddenly I felt a whole lot better. So thanks for that. Am I alone in being mean-spirited enough to wish that it were me floating in a tropical pool and you in my place trudging off to work every day in the drizzle and sleet? I think I probably am. But not so mean-spirited as to not be very happy for you having the time of your life. So keep posting - just maybe not so many men on toilets next time. It's a nice corrective and makes you one of us again, but . . . Dominica looks incredible - how will you ever be able to face going back to Bradford again? Not a question I imagine you're asking yourself. Make the most of it, Sarah! Lots of love, Peter. x

Excellent entry! Really liked it and hope you're enjoying yourself as much as it sounds. Wish I was doing something similar...
