this church was crazy....tacky...great. in small town in the middle of the highlands of guatemala...who would think?

there is a central area where women wash clothes and the town gets water...these girls were so shy and not shy at all...just giggling and asking if we had some pencils...
an altar
outside? first time seeing one like this...you could smell the incense from far away...it gave me a strange feeling...kids were playing in the street in front.

this is what i came to zunil to see, he has several names, depending on the town you are in...he is worshiped, prayed to...just like any other saint. they give him rum and coke and chocolate and more... [more]

check out those gloves...what a handsome cowboy. the other, called maximon, in santiago was much smaller...just an upper torso.
