March 26th, St Thomas, 3:16pm
When I woke up this morning I couldn’t really get moving, and the darned sleep button is just so easy to hit so I hit it a couple (8) of times. I finally got up and headed to the desk to meet my small group of golfers for the day. I only had 5 people signed up which is a little weird considering I have 20 signed up for tomorrow.
We were onetime leaving the ship, and when we got to the van, slowly (that is the drivers name) gave me the club that one of the guests lost last week, so now I have to put that in the mail for Paul.
It was a nice morning in St Thomas and the views were tremendous as we made our way along the coast and up the highway.
When we got to the golf course I was a little worried because a big group from the Freedom was just arriving and they are known to be a little slow but they managed to move along quite well today. Everybody in my group got sorted out and just before we left for the range, one of the starters asked if we would take along a couple of teenagers because they were not old enough to drive the carts, so I took one in my cart and one went with his dad in our other group. So now the golf course owes me a favor which is always nice.
I also got to play with Jeff and Christine, the first father and daughter combination I have had all season. Christine is a really good player, very nice golf swing for a 16 year old. She would probably be about a 12 handicap, and can hit the ball pretty long.
I didn’t play very well today, never really got my mind into it. I did hit a couple of good shots here and there, made a couple of birdies but also made a couple of really bad swings and some really weak efforts with the putter.
The pace was very good today as we were back on the ship by 2:15pm which was nice because I had time for a quick nap and shower.
7:46pm
Law and order is a really good way to relax after a hard day, I don’t know why it is but it is, thank god for TNT.
The desk was steady tonight, had a couple of crazies too. Tomorrow is the busiest day I have ever seen in Casa De Campo as far as tours go, must be all the young people on the cruise.
I can’t wait for Labadee this week, we have 13 wave runner tours already sold out and I get to train another chase, john, the broadcast manager, so I will have a busy day. I also have two pairs of sunglasses and two pairs of sandals to trade with the Kayakers in Paradise bay, so it will be a full day.
