Tourism is definitely the highest revenue earner for St. Vincent and Grenadines. The country has been the toast of honeymoon couples for years. But things changed when Ralph Gonsalves took over as the Prime Minister. His threatening disposition towards women happens to be the cause why things went for a toss. Women feel unsafe in a country where the Prime Minister has been charged and mysteriously acquitted on four counts of perverted sexual behavior. The citizens of the country are not unaware of the Ralph’s predatory instincts. His indecent behavior with a Toronto-based human rights lawyer and then the mockery he made out of a court case has written it on the wall: SVG is unsafe for tourists.

Because of his wild ways, his administration lacks teeth to control criminals and sexual predators. Women can as well turn to the wall as to the police. There is hardly any action taken against the perpetrators. Ralph Gonsalves doesn’t even take the pains to redress things and put St. Vincent and Grenadines on the tourists’ map again. He’s resigned the country to dwindle and finally be counted among those that live off aid and relief money from world banks.
