trApril 8th, San Juan, 12:34pm
It is almost paintball time! We are going to be a small group today though; only about 8 of us have the guts to go shoot each other.
The morning desk was hectic because as always we have last minute cancellations coming into San Juan, the horseback and ATV were cancelled this morning due to heavy rains last night. So as always we have 80 pissed off guests scrambling to find something to do at the last minute.
It looks like golf will be cancelled for tomorrow which should give me some time off to see St Thomas. I am sold out for the last call in Casa De Campo and I have some Canadians from West Vancouver so it should be a fun day.
9:14pm
Well the dispatch is getting better in San Juan, Sorin was a little calmer today than he has been in the past so nobody freaked out too much!
We had all the tours gone by 2:15pm which meant paintball would leave on time. I ran back to my house to change and then go to the office to do the invoices for Sorin so he could change and meet us
on the pier. We got everybody off the ship before the big bad Freedom came in except John and Chris so we had to wait 20 minutes for them to dock the freedom before we could leave.
We have a regular guy for transportation which makes things easier, I told him I would be back in December as well. We got to the field by 3:30pm and were rocking and rolling by 3:40pm! We stacked the teams a little bit today for fun; Ed, Sorin, Callum, Craig and I against Berry, Sheldon, John, Chris and casino guy, I don’t remember his name, I just called him target!
We won the first three games, and I got a great shot in on Sheldon (the hotel director) right square in the mask! The other funny moment was when John mistook the ref for a player and shot her point blank in the shoulder and left a big welt on her shoulder! We are never going to let him forget that one!
All in all it was a great day, we ate pizza and drank coke and shot each other all day, what more could you ask for. I tried the gun cam thing again but it didn’t work out as well as I had hoped, but I did get some footage.
We were back on the ship by 6:15pm and I had to shower and head to the desk for a couple of hours. Amazingly we only had two complaints about the tours in San Juan, I am sure we will have more tomorrow.
I have a little bit of time now to change and get ready for the show tonight for the crew, it should be a lot of fun!
2:23am
Well that was a fun night!! It started with pushup poker in the staff bar, yes I said pushup poker. We thought we would make it more interesting by playing for pushups instead of chips. It seemed like a good idea at the time because Becci was learning how to play and it is too easy to bet with fake chips so the losers of the hand had to do pushups! Let’s just say my arms are a little bit sore now!
Nadeen the hypnotist from Toronto does one of the best shows I have ever seen! We laughed so hard for two hours that we were in pain! She asked for about 15 volunteers from the crew but they had to be willing participants, not skeptics!
The things she got them to do were simply amazing. Some examples include; she made Amy believe that she was the star of the show and at any point during the night when there was applause Amy would think it was for her and stand up and take a bow, she made Ian believe that he hated laughter so whenever he heard laughter he would get up and yell at us and tell us to shut up! She made Lauren get rid of the number 6 from her head, and then asked her to count to ten on her fingers and she was amazed when she got to 11!! She made Chris believe he was a maestro and whenever he heard a certain piece of music he would jump up and start conducting! Then she made them believe that the entire audience was naked, and the volunteers were pointing and laughing, Amy pointed at Nick and said “why is that guy so small”, then she made the volunteers think they were naked! I hope they make a DVD of it because it was hilarious!
I have to get to bed now because I have to be at the desk in 4 hours, but then I am done at 9am to go and explore St Thomas.
