Nicaragua

Hello Everybody!
How are we all...haven´t heard much recently?¿
We are currently in Leon in the North West of Nic. we started in San Juan del Sur after i wrote the last blog...took a very long journey there having much trouble at the borders. Thank goodness for other travellers who can speak Spanish!
It is very very hot here. 33/34 degrees every day hardly (if any) rain I can´t remember. we spent a day there, Ant did some surfing while i sunned on the beach and avoided huge purple and orange crabs. Next we made our way over the island in Lago de Nicaragua (Ometepe). There we did a 3km hike to the San Ramon waterfall which is over 100m high and completely gorgeous but the 3km was slightly misleading as it was incredibily steep. took us 2.5 hours to get up and 1 to get down. Plus an hour riding on bikes to get there. The next day was even crazier 27km bike ride to a water hole which ran down from Volcan Conception. The road was gruelling and daren´t call itself a road as it was covered in rocks and pottholes...nightmare...thank goodness for squishy bums! Then we went to Granada which is the most beautiful city its really colonial and well restored. We spent a day trip at Laguna de Apoyo which is an extinct crater lake with 250m of water in so we swam all day which was soooo cooling. Our hostel (Oasis) was fantastic too. The best we´ve stayed in such nice rooms and hammocks. Today we went volcano boarding down Cerro Negro. It took 45 minds to hike up carrying a boiling suit, googles, water, money, camera and a board which weighed half a ton in the baking heat. then you just go. Nothing else to it. it is incredibily steep, i wasexpecting just an easy lillte drop but from the top you can´t even see the bottom as its so steep. I only fell off once and Ant did a few more times, he went a lot faster than i did and boys weren´t allowed to break. We all came down black as the rocks are black and dripping in sweat. Very fun though. Anthony hasn´t been very well the last few days (but they wouldnt give us a refund on the trips so he went anyway...probs not the best idea) He has a bit of a fever and feeling very achy. We´re looking forward very much to the beaches in Honduras.....and DIVING!! Next were headed to Honduras then straight onto Guatemala. Maybe Antigua will be our first stop.
