Hola! Taalla ollaan edelleen. Aamulla huomasimme tulleemme upean puutarhan keskelle. Taalta oli kiva aloittaa tutustuminen saareen. Vuokrasimme maastopyorat ja poljimme uimaan virkistaville lahdealtaille. Seuraavana paivana lahdimme aamun koitteessa valloittamaan saaren toista tulivuorta eli Maderasia. Nousu oli kuuma, mutainen, [View Full Entry]

On Tuesday we made our way from Managua to the Island of Ometepe. The island is formed by 2 extinct volcanos and is surrounded by the Lago de Nicaragua. The lake was originally joined to the sea but was closed off due to volcanic activity, resulting in sea fish being trapped in the lake. As a result the Lago de Nicaragua is one of the few places in the world which has freshwater sharks. We arrived on the island and jumped on the last bus which runs around the island, luckily there was quite a group of gringo's on the bus [View Full Entry]

WE heart Nicaragua. (exception: Managua) Arriving at the boarder we all had 15 minutos to change money, buy cheap cigarettes or an orange sliced in half with some salty stuff on it.. So we jumped out of our luxery air con bus to be hit by 38 degree wall of heat!!! Oh my god. It was hard just to stand up, wearing jeans 15 minutes is along time, the orange helped! Over oranges we talked to a nice Nicaraguan man who gave us the low down on where to go, what to do, la la la. This was our first [View Full Entry]

I woke up early to catch the bus to San Ramon, where I had planned on hiking to the Cascada de San Ramon. The bus was to arrive at 8:00 am and drop me in San Ramon in about an hour or so. By 8:30 the bus had not arrived so I decided to head back to my room to get a couple of things that I forgot. As slow as that bus moves I would have been able to get to my room and back even if I saw it coming down the street. Anway on my way back out [View Full Entry]

was undecided on what to do so i ran some errands and then decided to leave myogalpa and get somewhere out of town for some fun. 1st tried some huevos rancheros and met really cool older couple who have lived all over the world and travelled all over. they have a place in florida and teach at an international school. sounds like a good life. so i caught the ¨chicken bus¨ to chaco verde and saw some more estonians, 3 of them, who said it was a good place to chill and watch the sunset, but that everyone there was ¨old¨.
