on a cloudy day at the end of our garden
Bonjour, sorry about the delay in a blog. We've been a bit swept away in relaxation that getting up and making a drink seems a bit of a chore.

The Villa met our expectations and more. It's huge, with too many bedrooms to count, it has a pool table which requires a great deal of skill to rack up the balls let alone pot anything, but all good fun none the less. We have a bar that we stock daily, but we keep getting through the rum like it's juice so daily trips to the supermarkets have been on the cards. A favourite drink is rum and Ting. Ting is wicked, I also drink it with gin just so I can say 'can I have a gin and Ting please'. Little things.

Steve's birthday went with a bang. We went diving in the same place that we did our scooter training. The sun shone and the visibility was around 30m. Jon and Kate joined us, it was the first time we'd been diving with friends. It was lots of fun and will be up for some diving holidays when we come back! As per Steve's request we had a

BBQ in the evening and a bit of a party. All in all a fantastic 30th.

We've had a couple of day trips too. First was to the famous Dunn River Falls, a waterfall that you can climb. It would have been very romantic had it been just us, but it's a major tourist attraction. It was still good fun and a bit scary in places. I wish we had some photos, but the water was too fast and both hands were being used to stop us from falling. http://www.dunnsriverfallsja.com/

Yesterday we had a day in the mountains. We went through Fern Gully where we had our first experience of hard sales. I must have said no fifty times or more. It's difficult to stay polite after a day of being haggled. We drove around the hills above Ocho Rios for a few hours stopping off at a Jerk factory that had been mentioned in the guide book as giving quite a fun tour. Unfortunately the company had gone bust and had been taken over. The new management had closed down the tour and was a bit confused when we turned up. He was nice, however, and took

us on a mini tour of the site and in to the factory where we saw bottles of Walkers Wood Hot Pepper Sauce being packed.

Over the road there was a jerk restuarant which was lovely. My jerk chicken was out of this world. I think I may have seen my first ever hummingbird too. I wish I had a camera on me, she was beautiful.

Today we're heading down to our private beach for a bit of beach fun. There's a BBQ planned for later. Lazy days.

xx

ps just having a bit of photo problems and up loading them. I'll have another go this evening.
