The School year here runs from February through November, so vacation time is december and january. During this time, they have "Vacation Courses" at the ranch to take up the time. It is kinda like summer camp or summer school, depending if the kid needed more reinforcement in school or were failing a class. Courses were anything from Math or Spanish to Karate, Soccer, Dance or Music. All the kids attend 3 courses, each is an hour and a half. They have courses from 8am-1pm, lunch, then they all work for 2 hours (chopping the grass with a machete), rest/chores/shower, dinner and regular evening time in hogar. Each volunteer was assigned to help with a vacation course and I was in Scouts. We had all of the littlest kids, so it was basically like a summer day camp. We played little circle games and sang songs. It was funny because several of the songs/games we did were the same as some I used to play at Ramapo (the camp i worked at in New York) just translated and changed slightly to fit the language. Small World. The last couple days, we made a fire, cooked "pan y dulce de leche" (bread
with this sugary milk stuff on it) and hiked in the woods and went swimming. It was really fun because I got to work with the little ones. Here are some cute pictures.

Did you play Grande kulo?
Seeing all those smiles made me feel so happy. You are so blessed to have one another!
ALWAYS GLAD TO SEE PICTURES. NICE TO SEE YOU IN SOME OF THEM, THAT WAY I CAN'T FORGET WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE.
EVERYTHING IS FINE HERE, WE HAD ALOT OF WATER A WEEK AGO, IT CAME OVER THE RIVER AND UP TO ABOUT 20 FEET FROM THE HOUSE. WE WERE LIKE AN ISLAND. IT ONLY TOOK THREE DAYS FOR THE WATER TO COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR.
WE REALLY MISS YOU.
SAY HI TO YOUR BOYS.
LOVE,
GRAM AND AUNT BOBBIE
Play any games of "Quack didly oh so"or "Big booty".... those were the good times at Ramapo! The little kids are so cute. It looks like they were having a ton of fun swimming. Do you get to work with these kids only for the break and then you go back to your boys?
Have fun Kristen. I love you!
Hey Kris.. so I was reading your blog in the library.. and um I am pretty sure some people in here think I am a pedifile (sp?). haha all the pics of little kids in bathing suits... i guess the average passer by might think it was weird.
