Once a year they starting have the Day of Visitors. This is when any of the kids families, if they have them, can come visit the kids who live at the Ranch. They have a lot of fun activities and candy and food and stuff and people just come and spend time with their nieces, nephews, grandchildren, brothers and sisters (whatever their relation is to the kids who live at the ranch). Today, all the volunteers had the job of entertaining the kids who didn’t get visitors. This day tends to be difficult for some kids, and sad or disappointing for some kids too. Most kids do end up getting a visitor, but there were probably around 30 or so who didn’t. Some kids are told they aren’t getting a visitor but don’t want to believe it and will wait around all day, not believing that their family isn’t going to come. So anyway, the kids who do get visitors usually enjoy the day and have a great time, their older brothers or sisters or aunts giving them money sometimes, other times candy, toys things like that. They have said that many times this is deceptive for the kids because they

forget what life really is like, and come to think that their families outside the ranch have money to give them and toys to buy them when really they don't. But, it is always good for the kids to be able to have as much contact with their families as possible. So anyway, all the volunteers had the job of spending the day with all the kids who didn't get visitors, like I said. We watched a couple movies, then had snacks and then we all walked over to the Posa, which is like a huge pool of water, kinda like a lake but not exactly, and a bunch of kids went swimming and everyone else kinda hung out. We also did several pinatas, which is always super fun for the kids (they are freakin craaaazy over pinatas!). We had hot dogs and lots of food, and seemed to have alot of fun. Here are some pictures from the day.

Hi Kris,
Isaac should put that knife down! He looks like he is going to cut off his nose. If pictures could speak these would have a lot to say! They really capture a lot of emotion-peacefulness, joy, love and exhaustion. It looks a bit cloudy in some of the pictures, how is your weather? Tell Jennifer people from Oklahoma look very friendly and happy! Finally who is Steve R.? Tell him I read what he wrote in the previous blog's comments and I want to see the movie!!! Well, thanks for updating us, I KNOW you WORK. but try to post a bit more often-some of us are home wondering about you (no names mentioned) checking every day for an email or a blog anything to let me-I mean us, know how you are doing.
Love, Mom
Cool pictures... good job being artistic. I dig it. Also, the kids are adorable, but you need to take another picture of the "cute girl" because that one doesn't capture the supposed cuteness of her.
And your roommate looks like a freak, probably because she comes from the most boring state in the entire union.
