Sugar Cane
Sugar Cane
Oatmeal and hard boiled egg greeted me this morning.
The gravel was very rough to dig at the site today. Duct tape came in very handy as well.
I tried Sugar Cane for the first time. A man had a wheelbarrow full of them with a machete to chop it. It was very tough to chew, but the juices were sweet. You have to spit out the actual cane.
One of the foremen "Samuel" is a very stern character. He got onto his son Emmanuel for being too close to dangerous areas. He swatted him with his gloved a few times. It was kinda sad. All of the other workers have been awesome. The two girl-workers were dancing and grooving to the Tuesday service we heard in the background.
Five minutes later Samuel was laughing with them.
We went to a beach about 30 minutes away. It was run by a Haitian that lives part time in Baltimore. The Beach was very very rocky. We still had a good time in it. It was salty, but I am unsure of the cleanliness. We got chairs out and all read. We needed it badly!

take more pics of him flexing. Kervins (not Kevin) went with us...just a really good kid. Alecia and he love video games on your iphone and ipad.
After some rock collecting and picture taking we went back.
The food tonight consisted of goat, red beans and rice, potato, and a sweet cinnamon like dessert.
Rhonda did her devotional tonight and it referred to a book called "When Helping Hurts". I need to get this book.
I am very very very exhausted.
One more day of work and then we head back to Petiontville and then to the US friday!
