14.07.2009 It's going to be a tough week

Because Katrin and I signed up for the weekend trip to Semuc Champey - which is going to start on Thursday morning - we have to take our lessons earlier. We are going to miss two hours on Thursday and another 5 on Friday. Therefore Vivi and I scheduled to study eight hours today and tomorrow.

During the brake I had to go home, get my dirty clothes and bring them to the laundry place. It was all a little hectic, but I needed to get my washing done and when else would I have time for it?

In the afternoon I was a bit tired from studying. I still needed shoes for the trip, because Josué didn't think the ones I brought were good enough and therefore I decided to go shopping. We are allowed to take our teachers to places during class time as long as we pay for all their expenses. Again, I didn't know when else to go shopping anyway, because my week is packed with classes.

We took the bus the Centro Comercial. Vivi explained to me how the bus system in Xela works and of course during the whole time we spoke in Spanish. Therefore leaving school was not a complete waste of time. I really don't know what kind of shoes Josué had in mind but I couldn't find anything better than the Pumas I already have and that would enable me to walk, hike and swim at the same time. Therefore we walked back to the school empty handed and used the time during the nice walk through Xela conjugating irregular verbs.

Back at the school we continued with grammar but at some point I got all confused. Eight hours of studies a day in one and the same subject seems to be too much for me.

After school we went home to have dinner and then Katrin and I went back to school to watch the movie "Like water for chocolate". In my opinion definitely not a must see!

Wow, half of my Spanish classes are over already. I can't believe how fast days are flying by.
