Alright peeps....sorry Iīve been none existant but internet access has been limited.
So I left belize and went back into guatemala. Did my second border crossing..this one by foot. Took a bus to the Belizean Border...did the imigracion business, walked across a bridge and did the guatemalan imigracion business and then hoped on a shuttle to Las Flores. I ended up being the only person on the shuttle so I sat up front with the driver and practiced my spanish for a good 1.5 hours straight. He was a nice guy at first then he got a little creppy when he started telling me I was beautiful and that he had a wife but itīs okay becuase he didnīt lie to me and he was hitting on me. At the end of the ride he asked me out for drinks that night. I didnīt want to be rude and he wouldnīt really take no for an answer so I told him to give me his number and when my friend got in I would call him. Obvioulsy I didnīt call.
When I got the the internet there I had a message from my friend Asha saying sheīd meet up
Las FloresView of the little island I stayed on from Santa Elena
with me in Tikal, so I waited an extra day to go see Tikal so we could do it together. The ruins were pretty cool and I got to learn alot about the Mayan history. Learned about the Calendar and why people think the world is going to end on 12/21/2012. The tour started with being picked up in a shuttle at 5:30 am and it ended at 11:30 with a ride back.
That night Asha and I caught a night bus to Guatemala City. She came with me to stay with my Couch Surfer friends. We got there at 6 am on Saturday morning, took a taxi to her house...let our selves in...Í know the key codes and all, like Iīm part of the family or something! Did silly erands and just hung out and relxed for a few days! It was nice...like being back home with friends. Brad took Asha and I out for a night on the town. Dave and Bud....youīd be proud. I kicked his ass at pool and made him ride the pony around the table. Got a pick of it just for you guys!!!
