Fort GeorgesWalking up the hill to Fort Georges, St. Georges, Grenada.
A week in Port of Spain was more than enough for me. Being called "whitey and whitemeat," does get irritating after a while. I suppose its time for a tan.
I headed out to San Juan just outside the city, not too exciting either.
Then I went to San Fernando and fell in love with the city.
People are so open and friendly there.
I did get to go see Maracas Bay, which was gorgeous and eat some shark and bake - actually catfish.
I've noticed that most of my blogs contain at least one reference to food. I think I eat too much.
I tried to swim, kept getting knocked over by waves, so after drinking most of the water, I went to lay on the sand.
Well my vampire like skin now looks like a huge peeling tomato. At least I'm not white anymore.
A few hours before my flight to Grenada yesterday, I got food poisoning, the flu, whatever makes you puke your insides out.
My plane ride here didn't make things any easier. You know the plane is absolute garbage when you have to go down to the actual runway
to board and see this tiny, grimy looking thing with old looking propellers.
The turbulence was horrible. I honestly felt like I was on a rollercoaster. Not a good day for nausea and a fear of airplanes.
I roamed around the island today. I saw Concord Falls, Grand Etang Lake, Gouyave, and 7 Sisters Waterfalls.
The walk to 7 Sisters was ridiculous. It was up and down hill in clay steps, mud, rocks and rivers - in the pouring rain, I might add. But it was worth it. The view was so beautiful.
At Grand Etang Lake, I fed these crazy fish that nip at your fingers. As you can imagine, I was screaming the whole time. I was looking for koy fish, but I guess the rain was keeping them away.
I wandered around Grand Anse Beach today - a whole 100m from my hotel.
This is possibly the most beautiful beach I've ever seen in my life. Warm water, white sand and barely any people. I hung out with some people I met for a bit and headed home.
Grenada is my new favourite place. Beautiful scenery and great people.
I won't be
happy until I have some oildown, because its so tasty, but I can't seem to find it.
I'm not leaving until I do.
