Yesterday was a working day for us. Raymond never showed, boat boy. Oh well, it is the islands...We took a ride to Cabrit National Park, where the small cruise liners can dock. We had heard they would sell diesel to us, duty free. We saw 2 sailboats there in the am. So off we went...Walked right in to terminal, nobody stopped us, found security guy yakking away outside with another employee. We asked about the diesel, after he jumped up 3 feet from the ground. He called this lady, she in turn called someone else...After an hour of waiting, we finally were getting our diesel. It runs 10.65 EC per imperial gallon, which equal 4.3 gals of ours. We enquired about water, were told 1000 gallons for 30 EC. We don't need water, but Sol y Mar was asking. We ferried our jerry jugs back and forth. Diesel tank full, and so are jerry jugs. We use a system to get the cans of board, by using the outboard engine lift of the stern. I haul them out, while Pete stays in dinghy. It is quite a process, then we had to of course put in tank. Took us about 4 hours all together. We then went to Papa's Restaurant. They had sent us a message our laundry was done. So off we went, we had 56 lbs of laundry, and a bill of 112 EC. They did a nice job, all folded up, was still warm. Ahhh, clean sheets and towels.
Then Pete came back to boat, dropped the laundry off, came back to restaurant, where I was on the internet. They charge 4.50 EC for a half hour. We were so tired, we decided to eat out. Dinner was great, I didn't eat my chicken, cause I had to much food on plate, concentrated on the other stuff. White rice with veggies, macaroni salad, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber. Eggplant in some kind of sauce, some other veggies blanched, and great potato casserole. I could not eat my chicken, but you know who did...
Today we need to get gasoline, for generator and outboard. That is another process...Gas station within walking distance in town, need to get rid of garbage as well. Tomorrow, Sat, is market day, we certainly need fresh produce. Looking forward to it.
Tonight the town comes alive, it is payday. The festivities we are told start at 2100 continuing through 0400 or so. We are anchored far enough away, we do not believe it will bother us. Portsmouth only has about 2K inhabitants.
