Hello everyone, I know it has been a few weeks since the last blog and you are all wondering if it was just a fluke that I managed to get one complete with pictures and dialog as well. Well I can tell you it has been hectic for the past few weeks. Our good friends, ( like family) were here for a week & so much of our time was taken up with them. What an experience they had. Here is a good tip for all of you worldly travelers... Make sure if you decide to travel to Costa Rica, that your passport will not expire within 30 days. If so and you think you have a valid passport for travel, guess again. Jen was set to get on the plane with husband Steve, guess what, she could not board because her passport was going to expire within a 30 day period.... regardless that their travel would have ended prior to this date. Needless to say, Steve came, Jen stayed, spend several hours in San Fran getting a passport up-dated, and finally made it down the next morning. Getting up at 3:30 two days in a row to travel to the
Local Faunathis guy is slowly becoming my pet. He sits outside the open window where I work, I might have to name him, or eat him, not sure which...
airport was worth the trip to get her down here with hubby Steve.
So on the way to the airport to pick them up, what would go wrong, but the transmission on the car. I really do not want to go into this, but we are driving a rental car now for the second week.... You can imagine my feelings about purchasing a used car in a foreign country...
I have been back and forth to San Jose 3 times in the past week and will now need to make another trip to either get our car back or trade it off on something a little bigger and a little more dependable.
Our "STUFF" has finally arrived. Another trip to San Jose to customs to view the opening of the container. It will be in Jaco tomorrow. Sometime. This means nothing but work for both Laura and me....unpacking and setting up home again. I was just getting used to camping and not worrying about all of the esentials.
Last time we talked, I indicated that my sister Lynda was in Taiwan, what a dummie I am. I really do know the difference Thailand is a little more
You have to guess!!!local fruit, the one who can tell us the name and what it is gets 25,000 air miles for a visit to C.R. You must be exact and describe all aspects of this .. whatever it is.
like it. Not to mention it is just a little further away. Laura and I hope you enjoy the blog. It will only get better as time goes by.
We included a picture that we want you to identify. In order to be the winner, you must be the first person to correctly identify this item in it's fullest extrent. Please do not tell us it's a fruit from Costa Rica. In case of a tie, we will have a drawing, The cat, will pick who she wants to come down and visit. ha ha! 25,000 air miles is good ffor round trip from the states, including anyone from Alaska.
Stay tuned.

And anyone who knows me, knows I kill orchids. Ha ha. I still owe you for the death of your orchids. Me and my black thumb.
It's a Cashew Nut. In it natural state it is poisonous and must be processed before it is ready for human consumption.
That's an easy one! IT is cashew fruit! Or cashew apples as some call them? Are they good? I heard they smell great.
