B-E-A-U-tiful day!! The sun was out all day and the breeze was amazing! You couldn't have asked for a better day.
Oky took me to her house today for class for something a little different. On our way up to her house we stopped at a bakery to grab some bread for cafe in the afternoon. Most Ticos have coffee and bread for an afternoon snack. The bread here is unbelievable! All made fresh in the morning. I couldn't even tell you how much bread we bought. haha Just like our "fruit tasting" day, this was our bread tasting day. She wanted me to try every kind of pastry. We got a huge cuban looking loaf of bread for sandwiches, 3 different kinds of pan dulce (sweet bread), and then 2 more breakfast type pastries. Lets just say after this morning's feast I had to do a lot of exercise.
Oky's house was beautiful! About half way up a mountain, 3 stories, incredible view! I got to meet her kids too! She has 3 boys ages infant-2 years old. Absolutely adorable!!
I took a taxi back into town to meet up with Miriam to get our nails done! She took me to a friend of hers that lived only 2 blocks away. She was amazing! Very talented! She did a design on each one of my finger nails! And for anyone who knows me I tend to bite my nails so they are extra short. But they look oh so pretty now =)
After nails I went for my exercise of the day. When I returned home Miriam had dinner all ready to go! Salad, potatoes, and chicken! yum yum! =)
After dinner I went to my room to check my e-mails and such. After about 10 mins of working I noticed things to begin to shake...then more....then more. I experienced my very first earthquake! Miriam called out for me and I met her in the dining room. The tremors lasted a good 5 minutes. I will admit I was kind of scared. haha But everyone and everything is okay! =)
Tomorrow is the fresh fruit market and coffee Britt plantation! Can't wait to update you tomorrow! I shall have lots of pictures!
